Accessibility statement for Sumkite
This accessibility statement applies to the Sumkite web app, including the employee portal where people see their payslips, P60s and pension letters.
Strategzilla Ltd runs this service. We want as many people as possible to be able to use it. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts using your browser or device settings
- zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate the whole service using just a keyboard
- navigate the service using speech recognition software
- listen to the service using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
- get a warning 2 minutes before we sign you out for being inactive, and choose to stay signed in
We've also made the text as simple as possible to understand. AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this service is
We know some parts of this service are not fully accessible:
- payslip, P60 and pension letter PDFs are not tagged, so a screen reader may read them in the wrong order: the same figures are on the web payslip page, which is accessible
- wide tables (for example the pay run summary) scroll sideways on a small screen
- when a form comes back with an error, the error summary names the field to fix but doesn't always link to it
What to do if you can't use this service
If you can't use part of this service, or need information in a different format such as large print, an accessible PDF or plain text, email atif@strategzilla.com. We'll reply within 5 working days.
Reporting accessibility problems with this service
We're always looking to improve the accessibility of this service. If you find any problems not listed on this page, or think we're not meeting accessibility requirements, email atif@strategzilla.com. Tell us the page address and what went wrong.
Enforcement procedure
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Equality Act 2010, which requires service providers to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. If you're not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).
Technical information about this service's accessibility
Strategzilla Ltd is committed to making this service accessible. HMRC's terms of use for software that connects to its APIs require the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard.
Compliance status
This service is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
- Payslip, P60 and pension letter PDFs have no tags or reading order. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 (Info and relationships). The web versions of payslips carry the same information. We plan to add tagged PDFs by 31 March 2027.
- We haven't yet tested the service with every screen reader. Until we have, some screens may be read out in a confusing way.
Content that's not within the scope of the accessibility regulations
Links to GOV.UK, HMRC, Companies House and The Pensions Regulator go to their own websites, which have their own accessibility statements.
What we're doing to improve accessibility
Every screen is checked automatically each time the service is changed: headings, labels, required fields, link and button text, table headers, error messages, landmarks, the skip link, focus styles, ARIA, colour contrast in the light and dark themes, reflow at 320 pixels wide and target sizes. When a form needs fixing, the page comes back with what you typed (except passwords, codes and bank or tax references, which you type again), an error summary at the top that is announced and focused and links to each field, the field marked as invalid with the message next to it, and "Error:" at the start of the page title. We'll test with NVDA, JAWS and VoiceOver before HMRC recognises the software.
How we tested this service
This service was last tested on 30 September 2026 against the WCAG 2.2 AA standard. The test was carried out by Strategzilla Ltd using automated checks on every screen, a review of the colours and the style sheet, and keyboard checks.
